My daughter Natalie came in before she was 7 years old and still wasn't walkiing. Dr. Raj and Gracie not only assisted with the walking process but also showed her to run, skip, jump and climb. She can now play with her other siblings when playing outside. Thank you so much to the both of them and for being so patient with her. Thank you to Heather and Janie for working with her on Occupational skills. She is more hands on at home and is able to feed herself and color better. A big thanks to Janie for being so kind hearted to my baby!!! Patty and Diana have helped Natalie with her Speech and Diana has opened a new world for us in teaching both Natalie and I sign language. That has helped in so many ways. Thank you to Rebecca for always welcoming us when arriving, your smile at times calmed Natalie, and to all the staff for treating us like part of your Health Success family. "My daughter began occupational therapy at age 3.4 years," stated Ms. P. "At the beginning, she was very restless and would not sit still more than a few seconds. She would not look at me or at other sin the eye and did not tolerate being touched. Tania was accident prone and had very poor interaction with others, often hitting and biting. When trying to use her hands to stack blocks, cut, use a pencil, or begin to dress herself, she could not do it. Now, at age 4.3 years and having intensive occupational therapy and speech therapy at Health Success, she is very changed. She can sit and concentrate 10 to 15 minutes. She will look me in the eye, and is fine being touched. She can dress herself and is now potty-trained. When she plays, she handles blocks, scissors, and pencils normally, and is now motivated, whereas before she did not demonstrate any motivation. The secret of success according to her therapists was an aggressive "sensory diet," which means input to stimulate tactile, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems. Join compression and brushing were two important modalities used in her case. |

Elizabeth had lost 80% of her hearing by the age of 1 year, and that deficit had impaired her speech, too. Her mother reports, "We didn't understand a word she was saying. We were frustrated trying to communicate." Now, after therapy, her mother says, "besides having a minor speech clur, she can communicate with anyone. We are very blessed and happy with the progress Elizabeth has made."

Gaining the "unachievable": Mrs. Guerin, who began therapy at Health Success after a back surgery wrote, "I am now at a functional level that my medical team thought was unachievable.
